VALLEY AQUATICS CEASED
TRADING IN JULY 2008
It is with regret that Valley Aquatics ceased trading on Sunday, 20th July, 2008. We were forced into this position due to increasing overheads (electricity alone had virtually doubled from £1010 to £1921 per month), staffing problems and competition from e-bay and the internet. Our thanks do, of course, go to all our customers for their support over the years.
BUT.....
Over the last few years Mike has become widely respected in the area for his vast knowledge and experience and he will therefore continue to undertake pond maintenance (filters, pumps, UVs etc), filter installation, fish health (including microscopic scrapes) and can be contacted on 07738 957453. Marine and tropical maintenance and advice is also available. Mike is one of the few people in the North West to offer such services and, as such, many ex-customers are still using him.

Mike can also be found, working at The Aquarium at Cockfields Farm, Lees Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 8AR. He's there Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 9am to 6pm and Sundays from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Needless to say, he is still providing the same friendly, helpful, advice as he has always done. So please feel free to call in and see him - he'd be delighted to see you.
Cockfields have a large tropical and marine department, as well as reptiles. Since Mike started working there at the end of September 2008, Cockfields have expanded their fancy coldwater section and, in early 2009, also expanded their pond section. There's also a cafe, petting farm for the kids and a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Liz is now the Accounts Manager for Fishworld at 756 Middleton Road, Chadderton, Oldham, OL9 0PA (Tel: 0161 665 2831). Fishworld have been established for over 38 years and are renowned for their tropical and marine sections. Easter 2009 also saw the launch of their 'Pond World' section. Whilst Liz doesn't work in the shop she is usually there on Wednesdays and Fridays and can often be found lurking around on an ad hoc basis. Fishworld is open 7 days a week and has a late night on Fridays until 8pm. Check out their website - www.fishworldoldham.co.uk
