Mike Donlan has been keeping Koi and tropical fish since 1985, and marines since 1998. He has worked in the aquatic trade since 1999 and during that time has become widely respected in the area for his vast amount of knowledge and experience. He began working at Valley Aquatics in 2003 and when Valley Aquatics ceased trading in July 2008 Mike continued as an aquatic consultant as well as undertaking pond maintenance (filters, pumps, UVs etc), filter installation, fish health (including microscopic scrapes) and general advice on ponds.

In addition, he has also built up a wide reputation for the maintenance of coldwater, tropical freshwater and marine tanks - as well as installations and health issues.

Mike is one of the few people in the North West to offer such services and, as such, many of his ex-customers from Valley Aquatics are still using him on a regular basis. As well as individual hobbyists, some of Mike’s clients have and/or include local businesses, schools and hospitals.

Although his clients are currently centre around Manchester, Oldham, Preston, Chorley, Burnley, Rossendale he has gone to customers as far as Birmingham, North Wales and Carnforth. Distance, therefore, is not a problem although a charge will have to be made for travelling time.

Mike’s services also include holiday cover where he will visit your pond or tank(s) to undertake regular maintenance and feeding whilst you are on holiday - references can be provided for this service.
